The Key Stage 3 Religious Education curriculum at Ernest Bevin College focuses on four key themes:
- Historical and Cultural Context:
Students learn how religions change and develop over time. This includes the historical reasons for changes in beliefs and the connections between faiths. - The Lives of Believers
Students also learn about how belonging to a religion affects the daily life of believers. How do their religious beliefs shape their decisions and their relationships with others? - Tolerance
The world is full of people with very different beliefs and opinions. Students will learn how to respect the beliefs of others who may have views that are different to our own. - Religion in Society
The final theme concerns how different religions live together in the modern world and how sometimes this can lead to conflict and challenges
