  • Careers Advice

Ernest Bevin College is incredibly proud of the outstanding destination outcomes of its students. This excellence is the result of the hard work of students and teachers, but also of our exemplary careers education, information, advice and guidance.

In the Sixth Form, all students have a timetabled Careers lesson every week which covers UCAS – the university application process, student finance, gap years and apprenticeships. Help in completing Personal Statements and application forms is available on a one to one basis. For internal candidates this programme builds upon the Careers curriculum from Years 7-11. External candidates are quickly brought up to speed and benefit from the support and guidance offered as standard to all Ernest Bevin students.

Careers Programme

Careers Information Advice Policy

Provider Access Policy

The careers noticeboard is regularly updated with career opportunities and local labour market information. Students can also find careers information on the careers noticeboards in the library and sixth form study area.

We monitor the impact of the careers programme by scrutinising our destination data: UCAS success (number of students going to university, nature of university/nature of course); apprenticeships; number of NEETs.

We can make qualitative judgements as to how much students have absorbed through their course choices at the end of year 9 and when they join 6th, form.
