At Ernest Bevin College bullying is not tolerated and any incidents of bullying are dealt with swiftly and consistently. Students are encouraged to report any concerns they have to a member of staff as soon as possible so that problems do not escalate. Parents can also contact the college in confidence to discuss any concerns they may have.
We recognise that bullying takes many forms: physical, verbal, online and may also have a sexual nature. Anyone who feels that they are a victim of bullying or harassment should contact their form tutor or speak with any member of staff for support. Any concerns or complaints will be investigated and appropriate action taken.
EBC SHARP reporting system (students can receive confidential advice or reports incidents of bullying etc)
The Anti-bullying Alliance defines bullying as the repetitive, intentional hurting of one person by another, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power.
Bullying can be physical, verbal or psychological. It can happen face-to-face or through cyberspace.
Each year students are reminded of the school’s anti-bullying policies during Anti-Bullying Week and with respect to online behaviour in assemblies themed around Safer Internet Day
