Dear Parents and Carers,
We have been closely monitoring the weather forecast this
week and the Met Office predictions suggest we will experience very hot weather
on Monday and Tuesday next week. We have also looked at local government
advice and, with this in mind, we would ask for students to leave their blazers
at home; they can keep their shirts untucked and undo top buttons. Students
should wear their ties loosely and ensure they do not wear any t-shirts or
vests underneath their uniform.
We are strongly suggesting students stay indoors and
we will allow them to access cooler areas of the building during break and
lunchtimes – students should not participate in any vigorous physical activity.
Students should bring water bottles to college and ensure they drink plenty of
water. Sunscreen and sunhats with wide brims are recommended for students if
they are outside.
We have had to change our plans for Sports Day for Year 7
and 8 next week and they will now be involved in a swimming gala instead so
please ensure they bring their swimming kit on the following days:
Monday 18th July – Year 8
Tuesday 19th July – Year 7
We have a variety of fun activities planned for students
next week and we do not want them missing out so your assistance with the above
to help us ensure they remain safe and cool as well as following instructions
by staff is very much appreciated.
