Message from Ms O’ Leary, Head of Red Ties
I am delighted that your child’s place at Ernest Bevin College has been confirmed. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and introduce myself as your child’s Head of Year. I am also a teacher of English and love discussing plays, novels, and poetry with my students. I have worked at Ernest Bevin for a number of years and have enjoyed every day as it is a welcoming and friendly place.
As a Head of Year, I wish to build positive relationships with you and your child. I have many responsibilities but now, my main aim is to ensure your son’s smooth transition from primary to secondary school. I am sure he must have many questions about this new chapter of his life that we hope to answer over the next coming months. There will be opportunities for you all to meet with myself, Head of Transition, Ms Iweha, and my team of tutors to ensure a positive start to a successful and happy time at Ernest Bevin College.
Our transition programme is also detailed below and there is lots of information on the college website. Please also look at the uniform and equipment page by clicking Mona.
I look forward to seeing you all soon.
